Technical Support Engineer - UX/UI Focus | 12-Month Contract (Likely Extension or Conversion)

We're looking for a
Technical Support Engineer
with a passion for UX/UI to join a high-performing team on a long-term program of work. This is a
hybrid role based in Sydney CBD
, requiring some time in the office each week. It starts as a 12-month contract but has a strong likelihood of being extended or converted to permanent.

This role is a chance to grow your skills in application support for a major enterprise SaaS platform while working with a modern tech stack. You'll be the problem-solver who ensures customers and users get the best possible experience.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing frontline application support across a complex SaaS platform.
  • Troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving technical issues with a focus on UX and usability.
  • Working hands-on with
    JavaScript or TypeScript
    to enhance user experience and resolve interface-related issues.
  • Using SQL and Linux to analyse, diagnose, and resolve backend or system-level problems.
  • Analysing logs and applying standard debugging techniques to get to the root of issues.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, administrators, and developers to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Documenting fixes, processes, and improvements to strengthen knowledge sharing.

What you bring

  • Strong
    application support experience
    with web-based or SaaS products.
  • Solid skills in
    JavaScript or TypeScript
    with the ability to debug and improve user interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of
    SQL
    and relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, or similar).
  • Familiarity with
    Linux/UNIX
    environments and general web application stacks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to untangle complex technical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication - able to clearly explain technical solutions to non-technical users.
  • Experience in incident and escalation management in a structured support environment.
  • A customer-first mindset with the ability to balance technical detail and user experience.
