The Opportunity
RPM Hire has an exciting opportunity for an additional Barrier Supervisor to join our high performing Barrier team as we expand further into more states in AUS. Reporting to the National Barrier Operations Manager, you will be responsible to provide support to the operations team in the day to day running of the business. We are seeking a motivated and hardworking individual with a positive can-do attitude.
The Key Responsibilities
- Safety Management: Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently, maintaining a safe workplace by applying and educating the team on WHS policies and procedures. Log and manage safety incidents and hazards, ensuring a tidy and safe yard area.
- Financial and Budget Management: Control costs associated with subcontractors and labour, ensuring operational KPIs and budget targets are achieved.
- Accurate Record Keeping: Maintain and complete all required paperwork and records (SWMS, checklists, pre-starts, truck load records, exact numbers, photos) in line with procedures.
- Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership, direction, and support to the barrier team, including managing and delegating tasks to team members and contractors. Lead by example, upholding RPM Hire values, and training and upskilling the team as needed.
- Operational Collaboration: Work closely with the National Barrier Operations Manager and the Operations Manager to optimize the department's performance, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, and service and productivity standards are met.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers both on and off site, ensuring the needs of both the customer and RPM are met.
- Stock and Equipment Management: Oversee stock take processes, manage the loading and unloading of concrete and steel barriers, and assist with the preparation and installation of safety barriers and crash cushions.
- Recruitment and Development: Assist in the recruitment of barrier operations employees and foster the development of internal and external relationships.

- Proven supervisory experience with a strong ability to lead and drive team performance.
- Demonstrated autonomy, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficient in using computer systems with a comprehensive understanding of WHS and legislative requirements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Open-minded, inclusive, and collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Solid understanding of cost control and operational budgeting.
- Strong work ethic and a passion for the hire industry, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Experienced in forklift operation.
- Willingness to travel interstate as required.
