The Communications Directorate works to ensure all our activities enhance the image and reputation of the Department and promote Western Australian Government initiatives in education. We do this by providing a range of services to all areas of the Department including:
- internal and external communications
- communications campaigns and strategies
- brand management
- strategic communications advice
- media strategy and management, stakeholder engagement and relationship management
- public relations and marketing activities for a wide range of programs and audiences.
Within the Communications Directorate there are 4 branches of expert teams:
- Office of the Director
- Strategy, Stakeholder Engagement and Media
- Digital Content
- Campaigns and Projects
The Role
We're looking for a skilled and motivated Business Coordinator to play a key role in driving the smooth and efficient operations of our directorate. If you're experienced in finance, budgeting and accounting, and enjoy bringing order, insight and energy to a busy workplace you will excel in this role.
In this role, you'll be the go-to person for coordinating human resource activities such as recruitment, onboarding and professional development, ensuring everything runs seamlessly and in line with policy. You'll also help manage and monitor funding and resource agreements, keeping our financial operations on track and transparent.
You'll take ownership of a range of financial and administrative responsibilities from identifying procurement needs and arranging purchases, to developing and implementing efficient HR, finance and administrative processes. The Communications Directorate manages a range of projects with their own cost centres and has operational budgets that need to be closely monitored and managed, in this role you will be responsible for tracking these budgets to identify risks and underspends, and present these to the Director regularly.
Your expertise will help staff work smarter, and your ability to train and support others will build confidence and capability across the team.
