About the role

Helping Hands Support Services Ipswich is seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our team in Ipswich, Queensland. This part-time role will involve providing personalised care and support to our clients in the local community, empowering them to live independently and with dignity. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering our mission to improve the lives of the elderly and those living with disabilities.

What you'll be doing

  1. Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  2. Accompanying clients to appointments, social events, and community outings
  3. Providing emotional support and companionship to clients
  4. Advocating for clients' needs and collaborating with allied health professionals
  5. Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols
  6. Maintaining accurate records and documentation

What we're looking for

  1. A minimum of 6 months' experience in a similar support worker or caregiver role
  2. A Certificate III or IV in individual support, or disability support
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients
  4. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others
  5. A positive, friendly, and professional attitude
  6. A valid driver's licence and reliable means of transportation
  7. Willingness to undergo a National Police Check and Working with Children Check
