About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Excavator Operator to join our team for a variety of civil and construction projects across the Sydney region. The ideal candidate will have broad experience operating various types of excavators and attachments in different environments including residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate excavators of various sizes (1.5T–30T) efficiently and safely
  • Conduct trenching, bulk earthworks, detailed excavation, and final trim
  • Load and unload materials, dig footings, site preparation and grading
  • Work alongside ground crews and follow site foreman instructions
  • Daily pre-start checks, equipment maintenance, and minor troubleshooting
  • Adhere to all OH&S procedures and site safety protocols
  • Use of attachments such as rock breakers, augers, buckets, and grabs
  • Interpret site plans, levels, and drawings with precision

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience operating excavators
  • Valid Excavator Operator ticket / VOC
  • White Card (Construction Induction Card)
  • Current driver's licence (HR or above desirable)
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and compliance
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and reliability

Desirable:

  • Final trim and GPS experience
  • HR Truck Licence
  • RIW or other project-specific tickets (e.g., rail, water, road)
  • Civil or infrastructure project background
  • Experience operating additional machinery (e.g., skid steer, roller, loader)
