Project Director
to lead their Melbourne operations across the
public education sector
.
The Opportunity
This is a senior leadership position overseeing end-to-end project delivery - from early client engagement and conversion through to construction and handover. You'll play a pivotal role in driving commercial success, ensuring client satisfaction, and leading high-performing teams delivering complex education and community projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, execution, and delivery of multiple education projects, ensuring time, cost, and quality outcomes.
- Partner with Account Directors and clients to develop winning strategies and secure new work.
- Provide commercial and technical leadership across tenders, feasibility studies, and project planning.
- Oversee head contracts, budgets, risk management, and cash flow performance.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence across all project phases.
- Mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team of Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Engineers.
- Represent the business at client and industry forums, strengthening networks and partnerships.
About You
You're a seasoned construction leader with a proven background in delivering complex
education or public sector projects
. You combine commercial insight with a collaborative leadership style and a passion for developing teams.
You'll Bring
- 12-15 years' + experience in the building and construction industry.
- Minimum 10 years in project or construction management, including exposure to D&C and lump-sum contracts.
- Strong portfolio of completed school, university, or government-funded projects.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of managing budgets and contract performance.
- Advanced systems knowledge (Procore, MS Project, etc.).
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
