Enviroking Pty Ltd is a locally owned and operated waste management and transport business, proudly servicing residential, commercial and industrial clients across Newcastle the Hunter and Central Coast regions.
We're known for our reliable service, strong customer focus, and commitment to safety and environmental responsibility. As our operations continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our leadership team and help drive ongoing improvement across our business.
About the Role
As our Operations Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day transport and waste collection operations, ensuring our fleet and team deliver efficient, safe, and compliant services.
You'll work closely with drivers, customers, and senior management to maintain smooth operations and continuously look for ways to improve processes and performance.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys leading people and solving problems.
Australian work rights are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Manage daily transport and waste collection services, optimising routes, schedules, and resources for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all operations meet legislative, environmental, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Fleet & Equipment: Oversee fleet performance, maintenance scheduling, and equipment procurement.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support our operations team to achieve high performance and maintain a strong safety culture.
- Customer Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring service quality and satisfaction.
- Financial Management: Monitor budgets, control costs, and prepare regular operational and performance reports.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements, technology upgrades, and operational efficiencies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with suppliers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in an Operations Manager or senior supervisory role within transport, logistics, or waste management.
- A minimum of 3-4 years of Operations Manager experience is required.
- Strong understanding of fleet management, logistics planning, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to analyse operational data, prepare reports, and drive improvement initiatives.
- Experience managing budgets and achieving cost efficiencies.
- Proficient with transport/logistics software and Microsoft Office.
- Practical, hands-on problem solver who thrives under pressure.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Logistics, Business, or Operations Management (preferred but not essential).
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Chain of Responsibility, Heavy Vehicle Accreditation) desirable.
- Current Driver's Licence (HR or higher advantageous).
