Coal River Engineering is an engineering company that provides niche consultancy services to coal clients in Australia and Internationally (predominantly in Latin America).

We work collaboratively with our clients to provide specialist engineering support from initial coal quality testing and resource evaluation through to project delivery and site commissioning.

Position Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Newcastle for a self-sufficient and motivated process engineer to combine their engineering skills with strategic business knowledge and experience to be an integral part of the execution of projects both in Australia and overseas

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering consulting support to Coal River Engineering's client base in Australia and overseas.
  • Undertake periodic condition assessments of Coal River Engineering's installed mechanical equipment base in NSW and Queensland.
  • Promote and support the sale of Coal River Engineering's mechanical equipment portfolio and modular coal processing plant solutions in Australia and Latin America.
  • Participate in industry sponsored research projects.

About you

Reporting to the managing director, the ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a passion for engineering design and possess the drive and hunger for developing client relationships to support our continued business growth. You must have a valid NSW drivers' license or valid overseas drivers' licence to be eligible for this role.

Skills and experience

  • Engineering Degree in either of the following disciplines: Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant post graduate employment experience working in a minerals processing plant, preferably in coal processing.
  • Design and project execution experience working in construction, commissioning and/or operations in the bulk materials and minerals processing industries.
  • Advanced Spanish proficiency (CEFR C1 minimum) and Intermediate English proficiency (CEFR B2 minimum).
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Experience using Limn process simulation software or similar simulation software.
  • Being client focused and the ability to develop and nurture trusted relationships.
  • Being creative and having good problem-solving skills.
