Job Description:

Are you a strategic thinker who still loves to get your hands dirty? We're looking for a Principal Software Architect to play a critical role in shaping the future of our platforms across multiple high-impact business units, including property research, mortgage origination, and risk assessment.

In this role, you'll provide architectural oversight and technical leadership across distributed engineering teams, ensuring scalable, coherent, and future-ready solutions. You'll work closely with engineers and business stakeholders alike, influencing direction and driving technical excellence across our software ecosystem.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead Architectural Design: Guide architecture decisions across multiple platforms and products, balancing near-term needs with long-term scalability.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with engineering teams, product managers, and business leaders to align technical solutions with strategic goals.
  • Influence Technical Direction: Shape and enforce best practices in system design, integration, and platform evolution across domains like property, lending, and data services.
  • Mentor & Empower: Provide technical mentorship to senior engineers and architects, supporting their growth and elevating engineering standards.
  • Hands-On Engagement: Stay close to the code where needed, this is not an ivory tower role.

Job Qualifications:

What You'll Bring

Essential:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with years in a dedicated architecture or principal engineering role.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering complex, modern software architectures across cloud-native, service-oriented, and event-driven systems.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and independently driving decisions with strong technical judgment.
  • Skilled communicator who can articulate architectural concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working across multi-team environments and influencing without formal authority.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with domains like property tech, financial services, or data platforms.
  • Background in a product-driven technology company, where software is core to the business, not just internal IT.
