Monash Care Disability Services is registered NDIS provider, with a team of home care professionals that is dedicated to offering comprehensive and compassionate care in disability and dementia care, helping participants to achieve their goals.

We are looking for a responsible, responsive and committed Disability Support Worker with experience in mental health in Croydon or Eastern or South Eastern suburbs

Female Support Worker preferred

Support Workers are to provide the following services:

Personal Care: Provide assistance/standby assistance with daily self-care, grooming, getting in and out of bed, moving around the house and/or medication prompting;

Domestic Assistance: Provide assistance with domestic chores, including assistance with light

cleaning, dishwashing and/or laundry. May also include help with meal preparation where this is not the primary focus of the service;

Transport: To assists clients to/from appointments, assistance with getting in and out of vehicle and/or social activities

Social Support: In home or outside the home to access community facilities. This service generally aims to maintain a client's community connection and fulfil the need for social interaction;

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Home and Community Support Workers assists clients, to maintain and increase their independence and assist them to live as valued and participating members of the community.
  • Provide a high quality and timely care support to all clients as directed by Home Caring
  • Document service activities that support service outcomes
  • Assist clients in carrying out all self-care tasks as requested
  • Provide transport for medical and social appointments &/or shopping

Providing services in culturally appropriate manner

  • Ensure relevant food handling regulations are adhered to and Work Health and Safety (WH&S) standards are met when providing meal preparation services
  • Provide support to the review and evaluation of aged care and disability services
  • Availability and flexibility to work over a 7 day, 7 hour roster period including mornings, evenings, weekends and sleepovers and serious commitmentRequirements:
  • Preferred Certificate III in Individual support or Cert IV in Disability/Aged Care/Mental Health, or equivalent qualification
  • Current First Aid level 2 Certificate or willing to obtain
  • National Police Check or willing to obtain
  • Own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
  • Manual handling (preferred)
  • Administration of medication (preferred)
  • Current Working with Children's Check (WWCC) preferred
  • Current Australian Drivers License (MUST)

Remuneration commensurate with experience and qualification.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Wages: $35.00 – $38.00 per hour

Schedule:

Day shift, 7 hours daily. Usually 10AM to 5PM roster, 4-5 days of the week including some weekends.
