About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Vocational Education and Training (VET) Teacher to join our Building Trades Department at Swinburne. This role is an exciting opportunity to inspire, engage, and educate students for the 21st century. As a VET Teacher, you will implement industry best practices, integrate current learning technologies, and apply contemporary learning pedagogies to support student success.
Working collaboratively within a team of education professionals, you will plan, deliver, assess, evaluate, and ensure compliance with high-quality education and training programs. You will be responsible for customizing and adapting our programs to meet the diverse needs of learners and clients, spanning from certificate level through to diploma and associate degree levels.
As part of our department's expansion, we are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced teacher to support expected growth in 2026 and beyond. This role involves teaching and assessing units from the CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry as part of our new workplace-based (onsite) training delivery option. You will collaborate closely with carpentry employers and coordinate both on- and offsite learning and assessment tasks to ensure students receive high-quality, industry-relevant training.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated ability to implement high quality innovative teaching and learning programs in a variety of learning modes, reflecting an understanding of successful approaches to carpentry teaching
- Demonstrated ability to foster and promote an inclusive, customised and safe learning environment and provide support and advice to a diverse range of students and clients
- Demonstrated ability to participate effectively in continuous improvement, and develop high quality teaching and assessment materials
- Builds constructive relationships with colleagues and generate ideas for improvements which includes demonstrating high level communication and interpersonal skills
