About the role
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager this position is responsible for managing Inner West Council's Library collection management, programming, local studies, community liaison and training to ensure the delivery of an outstanding, contemporary library service. The position manages the library collections and programming budgets and is responsible for delivering an innovative and responsive collection, events and programming strategy and training functions to meet the needs of the local, diverse and creative community.

Remuneration
$136,983.08pa - $149,199.96 pa + 12% Superannuation
Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications
- Degree or higher of Library and Information Services recognised by the Australia Library & Information (ALIA) or equivalent or tertiary qualifications in a related discipline with experience to meet essential experience or skills criteria
- Demonstrated experience and successful track record in library management with a focus on collection and program development
- Demonstrated experience delivering high quality collections and programming including special need groups such as children, teenagers, older adults and CALD communities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team and its functions to achieve outcomes that address current challenges for the IWC and its commitments to the community
- Demonstrated experience in the areas of strategic policy, planning, grants applications and management
- Demonstrated experience planning, developing and managing budgets
