About the role
Broad Home Improvements is seeking a qualified Carpenter (with a minimum of 3 years experience) to join our team in Canberra.
It is a full time role and your duties will include the full range of residential Carpentry tasks across all our residential renovation and home improvement projects.
As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our projects are completed to a high standard and delivered in a timely manner.
We are also open to sub-contractor arrangements if this suits the candidate better.
What you'll be doing

Carry out general carpentry work required in residential renovation projects such as bathroom and kitchen remodels, deck and pergola repair and construction, relocation of internal walls, rehanging doors, replacing windows and flooring, installing fixtures, fittings and other building components.

Carry out accessibility modifications in our aged care projects such as installing hand rails and grab rails, widening doors and building or installing stairs and ramps.

Oversee jobs by liaising with clients as required and overseeing junior staff as required

Collaborate with other trades professionals to complete multi-disciplinary projects

Maintain accurate records and provide progress updates to the management team
What we're looking for

Punctual, good communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients, management and other contracted trades.

Completed apprenticeship in carpentry or related building trade

3+ years' experience as a Carpenter or similar role

Strong practical skills and have personal tools of trade

Self motivated and capable of working in a team as well as independently

Friendly and polite, organised, thorough and detail oriented.

Neat and presentable.

Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Willingness to turn a hand to new tasks and develop new skills as required

Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours if and as required

Current driver's licence and reliable transportation, white card holder, asbestos awareness and silica awareness training competencies

Holding a Working with Vulnerable people card and Obtaining a Police Check will be a requirement to work within our organisation due to the high number of vulnerable people that we work with
