Job Description
What's the role?
This Senior Business Analyst position is to assist the Westpac in the delivery of infrastructure for business and end user projects, who performs and leads business analysis tasks primarily within the boundaries of a project and/or program but not limited to. These tasks can be performed from a diverse range of perspectives including Waterfall, Agile, Information Technology and/or business process management The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Leading the achievement of Westpac's strategy by working with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, information and systems
  • Defining and managing the requirements through the delivery lifecycle to meet business needs
  • Providing and directing recommendations for process re-design and improvements and business solutions, enabling changes to processes, policy and/or information that support Westpac to achieve targeted business outcomes and deliver business value

What do I need?

  • Extensive Business Analysis expertise — 5+ years covering requirements gathering, process improvement, system analysis, and change implementation. CCBA or equivalent BA certification preferred.
  • Strong facilitation skills — led workshops to capture and validate functional and non-functional requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Technical domain knowledge — experience with midrange systems (Windows, AIX, Linux), databases, middleware/integration, networking, and storage.
  • Agile delivery experience — backlog refinement, user story creation, sprint ceremonies, and showcases.
  • Infrastructure-focused BA work — workload placement, security testing, disaster recovery planning, CAL, ITSCM, and compliance with operational gates.
  • Exceptional communication & stakeholder management — able to influence, resolve challenges diplomatically, and manage multiple deliverables independently.
  • Ability to align components with compliance and operational gates (OGATE, EPDR/SELC, RAID, TEP coordination, ITSCM).
