About the business
Formed in 1926, the Claremont Football Club sets itself apart from its competitors, living by the philosophy of developing our own and promoting from within. Through various talent pathways our focus is not only on developing great players but also great members of the community.
About the role
A vacancy exists for the position of Futures (16s) Coach. The CFC talent pathway sets the benchmark in WA for providing talent to both the WAFL & AFL competitions. The Futures Coach will be responsible for implementing a football program based on strong leadership, elite standards & individual player development & education.
This role presents a unique opportunity to make a positive impact and continue the progressive momentum established through hard work and perseverance by the Club and its stakeholders. Key Focus Areas of the Position are;
- To provide long term senior players for the Claremont Football Club
- To assist capable players in getting drafted to the AFL
- To prepare all players for possible progression to the club's Colts Program in subsequent years
- To create an elite environment that is conducive to both learning and enjoyment
- Contribute to the development of skills, physical attributes, football knowledge, personal growth and self esteem of all players
- Establish, implement and coordinate appropriate training programs that maximise the development of all players
- Lead and influence all support staff in a positive manner
- Embrace the Claremont FC philosophy of developing our own
- Understand cultural backgrounds and ensure these are considered when making decisions that may affect player performance; given the sacrifices players make living away from home
- Align football development priorities closely to the Colts & Senior Programs and proactively engage with other coaches and staff
About the candidate
Requirements would include;
- Minimum Level 2 AFL Coaching Accreditation (attained or working towards)
- Current Working with Children Check
- Knowledge of the WAFL Talent Pathway
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
- Highly developed leadership skills
