About the role:

Are you passionate about supporting older Australians and making a meaningful impact through quality food service? We're currently recruiting multiple Food Services Assistants to join our team at Uniting AgeWell Hawthorn.

In this role, you'll help deliver meals in line with our planned menu and the requirements of our Food Safety Program. Your contribution will directly support the wellbeing and individual needs of our residents, creating a positive and nourishing environment every day.

We have several permanent part-time opportunities available across the following shift lines:

Morning Shifts (7:30am – 2:00pm): These shifts follow a 3-day or 4-day pattern. Applicants will be asked to select one of the following options:

• Wednesday to Saturday (4 days): 24.0 hours
• Sunday to Wednesday (4 days): 24.0 hours
• Thursday to Saturday (3 days): 18.0 hours
• Sunday to Tuesday (3 days): 18.0 hours

Afternoon Shifts:

If you're reliable, compassionate, and enjoy working in a team that values respect and care, we'd love to hear from you.

• Wednesday to Saturday, 2:00pm – 7:00pm (4 days): 20.0 hours
• Thursday to Saturday, 2:30pm – 7:30pm (3 days): 15.0 hours

Tasks include:

• Working within a multidisciplinary team, maintaining daily and periodic cleaning schedules for food preparation and food service areas
• Serving residents meals in dining hall services and trolley service to rooms, washing dishes, sandwich making, providing cups of tea or coffee to residents and their visitors
• Provide feedback regarding residents' likes and dislikes regarding menu planning and escalate any observations or concerns in residents conditions
• Promote and participate in quality activities, and provide outstanding customer service maintaining friendly, supportive and professional relationships with residents, their relatives and friends
• Support colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise

About you:

• Have experience and expertise working in food service; preferably in a health, hotel or aged care setting
• Can work at a fast pace as part of a team
• Are experienced in customer service and provide excellent standard of service
• Have the initiative and ability to work without supervision
• Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

• A current Working With Children Check card
• Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
• Australian working rights
• Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
