Holmesglen Private Hospital is seeking a Ward Clerk to join our team on a full-time basis in our general surgery ward, specialising in orthopaedics, ENT, and vascular. You will play a key role working within our supportive team to ensure our patients have a positive experience during their care.
You will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and ward nurses, responsible for bookings, pre-admissions, discharge, billing and compiling medical records. Experience with Medical software (i.e. Charm and WebPAS) is essential.

Holmesglen Private is a state of the art 147 bed hospital, comprising of a 24/7 Emergency Department, 6 bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 9 bed specialised Coronary Care Unit (CCU), 12 bay Day Infusion Unit and 5 specialised inpatient units. - including Oncology, Urology, ENT, Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery, Interventional Cardiology and Rehabilitation Services
As a Ward Clerk your responsibilities will include:
Greeting patients and other customers.
- Liaising with nursing staff to provide accurate information to relatives regarding timeframes/wait times
- Preparation of patient files and coordination with other ward clerks to obtain patient files
- Medical record filing and distribution of discharge summaries, x-ray and pathology results
- Providing clerical support to NUM and nursing staff
- Liaison with allied health, wards persons and other hospital departments when required to facilitate patient treatments or transfers
- Cultivating a hospitable and friendly environment for all patients
- Work as an active team member to support all work tasks
Essential Criteria:
- Authority to Work in Australia
- 1-2 years' medical administration or medical reception experience
- Experience with Medical Software i.e. Charm and WebPAS.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
