Founded in 1910, Motor Traders' Association of NSW ("MTA NSW") is the peak Employer's Association dedicated to representing owners and business principals in the NSW automotive industry. We support our members in the daily running of their businesses, as well as lobbying governing bodies to ensure a long and viable Automotive industry in NSW.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a highly experienced and polished professional Area Manager who will manage our members' needs in the Southwest NSW Region.
The successful candidate will have experience in, or exposure to, the automotive industry and/or strong sales and account management skill set.
While not essential we will highly consider applicants with tertiary qualifications in business administration, communication, or related business fields.
As an Area Manager your responsibility will be to build key member relationships, identify membership growth opportunities with the aim to retain and grow the current pool of members in the area by ensuring that member information, compliance and legal needs are met.
Along with strong verbal and written communication skills, the right person will be competent in Microsoft Office and administration skills, with the ability to work autonomously and contribute to the team as required. As this is a regional role with limited face to face contact with Head Office, the right person must be a self-motivator, extremely resilient with great organisational skills.
Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- To represent MTA NSW to all Members, prospective Members, and the public within your allocated region as the opportunity arises and as directed
- Current Membership numbers in Area Managers region to be maintained as a minimum and strengthen relationships with Members.
- Ongoing and regular Canvas calling of all non-member businesses with a minimum of 10 cold canvas calls per week and record details in the Membership Database to ensure achievement of new Membership targets as set by the Divisional and Member Support Manager.
- All New Membership Applications allocated to an Area Manager must be followed up with the prospective Member within 24 hours.
- Visit each Member within the region, documenting meeting outcomes and action items for follow up (Targets to be defined within KPI's)
- Liaise with Divisional Managers and MTA staff to ensure they are aware of any potential issues to ensure this is addressed promptly and all messaging is consistent and common for our Members.
The Requirements:
- 5+ years' experience in a Sales role or Relationship Management role
- Experience in ZOHO or similar database management system
- Intermediate skill level of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Unrestricted Drivers Licence
- Automotive industry knowledge
- Outstanding relationship management skills, including the ability to network and influence
