Seeking an experienced
Cyber Security Architect
to join the Cyber Architecture and Assurance Section (CAS) within the Cyber Security, Cloud & Networks Branch. This role will play a key part in shaping and safeguarding secure ICT systems across government by designing frameworks, assessing risks, and guiding projects to achieve strong security outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Design and maintain secure architecture frameworks aligned with government standards (ISM, PSPF, NIST).
- Conduct threat modelling and risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending mitigations.
- Provide expert security guidance across cloud, infrastructure, and application projects.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, data protection requirements, and security policies.
- Support incident response activities and post-incident remediation.
- Monitor emerging threats and technologies to strengthen security posture.
Skills & experience
- Demonstrated experience in
cyber security architecture, secure system design, and risk assessments
. - Strong knowledge of government security frameworks (ISM, PSPF, NIST).
- Familiarity with
cloud security
and
identity and access management
practices. - Ability to
communicate complex security concepts
to technical and non-technical audiences. - Experience providing security oversight across IT projects, including infrastructure and application development.
- Minimum active NV1 security clearance (essential).
Highly desirable
- Certifications:
CISSP, CCSP, TOGAF, SABSA
(or equivalent). - Knowledge of secure software development practices and DevSecOps.
- Understanding of data protection, privacy legislation, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience influencing and advising senior stakeholders on strategic security decisions.
