About the Role

Leveraging your experience with Embedded Networks and Energy Management, as the Senior Business Development Manager, you will deliver profitable, sustainable expansion in Australia by driving the adoption of our Energy Management SaaS product(s), hardware and related services. Although supported by internal functions and stakeholders, this role requires the ability to run the sales process/cycle somewhat autonomously. Using our chosen CRM tools, you will manage the end-to-end sales cycle.

Your role will encompass the following key responsibilities:

  • Identify, target, qualify and convert prospective clients within agreed target market segments to achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Present, promote, and demonstrate our solutions, articulating their value proposition and ROI for clients.
  • Work closely with Customer Success, technology and delivery teams to build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
  • Develop and execute tailored sales strategies to penetrate new markets and expand the client base.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to align sales campaigns, generate high-quality leads and provide 'voice of the customer' feedback to influence product development decisions.
  • Conduct market and industry research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitor activities.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales proposals, contracts, and negotiations to secure new deals.
  • Manage the sales pipeline effectively using our CRM tools to track sales activities, pipeline progress, and performance metrics.
  • Stay updated on advancements in SaaS technologies, relevant market compliance requirements (such as AEMO) and translate these into opportunities for clients.

About You

This role is an senior position, ideal for those with a solid professional attitude, aptitude, and dedication to energy & power management. To be successful, you will need to possess the following:

  • Strong commercial acumen with 10+ years Business Development experience or equivalent and proven track record of hitting sales targets
  • Experience in the management of accounts for large business clients, with proven track record of building strong relationships and providing exceptional service
  • Strong knowledge of energy & power management including energy management systems and billing
  • Experience with energy management across villas, marinas, and retail as well as mixed buildings
  • Solid metering hardware, engineering and construction industry knowledge
  • Self-motivated, energetic and positive nature to deliver above quota performance
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Strong organization skills, networking and relationship skills
  • Sales ability including strong negotiation skills and proven persuasive ability
  • Appreciation of the value/importance of designated accounts, coupled with the ability to balance the needs of the organisation and the client's organisation
