About the Opportunity

The General Manager, Marketing and Brand is a critical executive role responsible for shaping and amplifying the brand strategy, voice, and reach of both QMF and QLD Music Trails. Reporting directly to the CEO and a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, this role is pivotal in delivering integrated marketing, communications, and engagement strategies that support QMF's purpose and impact.

You will lead a talented, cross-functional team across brand, digital, and campaign disciplines. Working closely with Programming and Production, you'll align marketing efforts with project delivery and audience experience across regional and urban contexts.

Key Responsibilities


• Lead and inspire the Marketing and Brand team through values-driven, collaborative, and inclusive leadership


• Drive the development and implementation of QMF and QLD Music Trails marketing, communications, and audience strategies


• Champion our brands, ensuring consistency in voice, identity, and community relevance across all platforms


• Align departmental initiatives with QMF's strategic direction and curatorial intent


• Oversee campaign planning and delivery to grow reach, drive engagement, and deepen audience connection


• Collaborate with partners, sponsors, and regional stakeholders to deliver co-branded campaigns and strategic communications


• Strengthen internal communication and service culture across the organisation


• Guide the team in best-practice governance, financial planning, and operational excellence.

About You


• Undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications in Marketing, Communications, or a related field


• 10+ years in senior marketing and communications roles, with a proven track record of business growth


• Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop, mentor, and empower high-performing teams


• Deep understanding of audience engagement, campaign strategy, and digital integration


• Confident communicator who can navigate complexity, influence stakeholders, and inspire creativity


• Passion for, or experience in, the arts, cultural tourism, music festivals, or events


• Ability to travel across Queensland, including remote and regional communities, and work flexibly around event timelines
