The Geelong College is seeking a French Language Assistant to join the Senior School from Term 1, 2026.

This ongoing, part-time position (10 hours per week) offers a rewarding opportunity to support students in developing their fluency, confidence, and cultural understanding in French.

The role is designed to enrich the College's French language program through authentic conversational practice and the integration of contemporary cultural perspectives. The Language Assistant will work closely with teachers and students in both classroom settings and small group or one-on-one sessions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A strong background in French language and culture, preferably demonstrated through formal qualifications such as a degree or diploma in French, Languages, or Education
  • Previous experience working or volunteering in a language teaching or support role is highly desirable
  • Experience working in educational settings, particularly supporting language acquisition and cultural understanding, is preferred
  • Holder of current Working with Children Check (WWCC), or ability to obtain
  • Hold a current First Aid (HLTAID 011) and CPR (HLTAID 009) qualification
  • Completion of the College anaphylaxis qualification
  • Evidence of Right to Work in Australia
  • Completion of Asthma for Schools Certificate (free course)
