Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced LV Switchgear Technician to join Powertech, supporting our Brisbane Office, on a Full-Time Permanent basis.

About The Role:

You will be responsible for the scoping, planning, execution, and testing of LV switchgear works across industrial and utility sectors. Key duties include:

  • Scoping and executing LV ACB (Air Circuit Breaker) upgrades and retrofits
  • Testing, commissioning, and maintaining LV switchboards, MCCs, and ACBs
  • Performing CB timing tests, primary injection, and secondary injection protection testing
  • Modifying and upgrading existing LV systems to meet current standards
  • Preparing technical documentation and reports
  • Supporting project delivery teams across multiple sites

About You:

  • Hold a current Queensland Electrical Fitter/Mechanic Licence
  • Proven experience in LV switchgear, ACBs, MCCs, and protection testing
  • Familiarity with Omicron test equipment (CMC series, Cibano, CPC100, CTA)
  • Strong understanding of protection principles and LV systems
  • Excellent fault-finding, analytical, and documentation skills
  • High regard for safety, quality, and professional communication
  • Willingness to travel for site work as required

Desirable

  • Experience with Schneider, ABB, Terasaki, or Siemens ACBs
  • HV switching ticket or experience with HV/LV interfaces
