About us

Felix is a 50-seater restaurant & bar tucked up Downes Lane, within Geelong's bustling Lt. Malop St precinct. We opened in May 2021 with a modern European fine dining experience in the evening. Then in 2025 we started offering a Paris meets New York style brunch service during the day.

We are proud to be the sister restaurant to:

  • Alma - a South American inspired restaurant who has been quietly kicking goals since 2017
  • Barwon Edge - bringing fresh Middle Eastern flavours to a gorgeous site on the banks of the Barwon River
  • Our newest addition to the group - The Batesford Hotel, our modern take on a classic country pub.

Ideal candidate

Above all else we want someone who will bring their passion for food & drinks, warm personality & strong sense of professionalism to the team.

We take a flexible approach to hiring – but we do have a few dealbreakers. These are the basics we need all candidates to bring to the table. You:

  • Comfortably manage a section in a cafe or restaurant setting
  • Delegate tasks to team members and communicate respectfully, even when busy
  • Will have a keen eye for detail and an intuition for guest satisfaction

Bonus points

We will give you bonus points for:

  • experience and/or formal training in coffee, wine, beer, spirits & cocktails
  • a love of dad jokes.

At the end of the day experience is important to us – but is not a deal breaker. We believe that passion, attitude and a desire to learn are just as important as your last job.
