The Client
Our client, a leading engineering and construction specialist in the energy, resources, and infrastructure sectors, is seeking a site-based Environmental Advisor for an immediate start.
The Role
In this role, you'll be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day environmental management activities on site and supporting the construction team. You'll help ensure our client's Environmental Management System runs smoothly and meets all project approvals, plans, and client requirement.
- Supporting the construction team with practical environmental advice and guidance.
- Helping to implement environmental plans and ensuring everyone understands what's required.
- Keeping the team updated on HSSE standards and expectations.
- Assisting with planning and resourcing environmental activities across the project.
- Identifying training needs to make sure everyone has the right skills and knowledge.
- Collecting and checking environmental documentation from subcontractors (like waste records).
- Analysing and reporting on environmental performance to the project management team.
- Ensuring any environmental incidents are investigated and closed out properly.
- Mentoring and supporting HSE Advisors as they develop in their roles.
- Representing the environmental team in planning and coordination meetings.
- Getting involved in additional activities as needed to support the project's HSSE goals.
About You
You will be tertiary qualified inEnvironmental Sciences or similar, with a proven ability to manage environmental aspects of complex and sensitive projects within large scale project / construction / mining environments.
We're looking for someone with experience in a similar role. You'll have a solid background in developing and putting environmental management systems and plans into action, and you'll know how to interpret and apply environmental programs to make sure all approval conditions are met. Experience on large-scale construction projects—or other comparable project work—will help you hit the ground running
