Your opportunity

Southern Cross University's Library Services are seeking expressions of interest from current students to work as Library Rovers at the Lismore and Gold Coast campuses.

Library Rovers provide support and library assistance to our Southern Cross University students. As students themselves, they will understand the difficulties faced when trying to learn the study skills necessary to succeed at university. To be eligible for this role, students preferably will have been enrolled for one year or more, and must maintain current enrolment in each study term. Specifically, this position requires:

  • Answering a range directional enquiries
  • Using information technologies to complete tasks and provide assistance using the library systems
  • Participating in activities including collection maintenance, digitisation, circulation and promotional activities
  • Familiarisation with SCU and Library services, policies and guidelines
  • Referring, as appropriate, to other relevant staff in the Library and other University units, e.g. Technology Services, The Learning Zone, Student Service
  • Other activities/tasks as required

  • A commitment to cultural diversity, and an understanding of equity and WHS principles in the workplace

  • HEW Level 1. The hourly rate for this role is $39.37 plus superannuation.
