Solutions Engineer

Last Yard, a top-tier SaaS provider serving Australia's largest retailers, is seeking a
Solutions Engineer
to join the Delivery team. Due to a recent promotion, we're eager to find someone who can take r
esponsibility for delivering on customer business case outcomes, and ensuring the on-time delivery and successful roll-out of all new and existing customer projects. A successful candidate would also contribute to the continual improvement of the delivery function to support future growth and scale.

Position Description

To be a success in this role, the ideal candidate will be able to:

• Maintain a deep understanding of our customers, their problems and how they use our software.
• Become a subject matter expert in understanding the capabilities of the Last Yard platform and skillfully guide a customer through the implementation and set up process.
• Coach customers and present solutions that fit Last Yard's best practice.
• Work closely with the sales team during discovery to uncover critical business issues.
• Collect and analyse requirements and interpret customer needs into implementation build tasks.
• Implement the solution on the Last Yard platform, including templates, workflows and business rules
• Take ownership over the entire solution and ensure it is well tested before delivery to the customer
• Work closely with the customer and key stakeholders throughout to "take them on the journey" and ensure a smooth transition into roll-out
• Contribute to sprint planning within the delivery team, and collaborate on tasks as needed with other members of the team
• Promotes the Last Yard culture and leads by example.
• Contribute to and play a integral role in the Last Yard strategic plan.
• Collaborates with other Last Yard teams, contributing to cross functional team success.
• Contribute to the sharing of knowledge on implementations so that there are reduced silos. Be prepared to work on any customer implementation and gather the understanding required.

Key Attributes

The successful candidate will hold the following technical skills:

• Proficient with at least one programming language, preferably python
• Proficient with troubleshooting applications
• Experience engaging with stakeholders, including managing and communication requirements
• Working understanding with git
• Working understanding with Django
• Working understanding with Django ORM
• Comfortable with Linux, preferably Ubuntu
• Working understanding with Grafana
• Working understanding of queueing solutions, celery and/or dramatiq
• Working understanding with docker, as a user of containers, with some understanding of how they are composed.
• Working understanding of caching solutions, redis
