Solution Architect - Cloud / Event-driven Architecture

My client, a global leader in the education technology industry, is seeking a Solution Architect to design and guide cloud-native, event-driven solutions across enterprise platforms.

This role suits a hands-on technologist - ideally a Senior Software Engineer or Tech Lead ready to step into architecture and help shape large-scale digital transformation initiatives, and lead a small enthusiastic team.

About the Role

You'll design and document scalable, maintainable technical solutions aligned with modern enterprise standards. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll define end-to-end architectures that embrace composability, modularity, and resilience, while mentoring engineers and contributing to architectural best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain end-to-end cloud and platform architecture.
  • Apply MACH, Composable, Hexagonal, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles.
  • Build event-driven, distributed systems leveraging AWS and serverless technologies.
  • Produce architecture artefacts and support governance and roadmap planning.
  • Mentor engineers and guide teams on modern architecture patterns.

About You

  • Enthusiastic and hands-on technologist with a genuine interest in modern architecture and cloud engineering.
  • Strong communicator who can clearly bridge technical and business discussions, influencing decisions across teams.
  • Experienced in designing and implementing cloud-native, event-driven, and distributed systems.
  • Solid understanding of MACH (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless) and Composable Architecture principles.
  • Familiar with Hexagonal Design, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and Data Mesh concepts.
  • Skilled in system integration patterns, microservice communication, and asynchronous messaging.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (including serverless technologies such as Lambda, SQS, SNS, API Gateway).
  • Proficient in at least one modern language such as TypeScript, , or Python.
  • Knowledge of key architectural patterns - Circuit Breaker, Strangler, BFF, Anti-Corruption Layer, Micro-Frontends, etc.
  • Collaborative and mentoring mindset - enjoys guiding developers and facilitating architecture discussions.
  • Motivated to grow your architectural capability and contribute to a forward-thinking, agile team.
