Are you an experienced network engineer with a passion for solving intricate issues and providing outstanding service? Optus Enterprise & Business is looking for a Technical Specialist – T2 Networks to join our high-performing Technical Assistance Centre (EB TAC). This is your chance to assume operational responsibility for brand new managed network and data centre services for our enterprise customers.
What You'll Do:
- Own and resolve complex network faults and incidents using problem management methodology.
- Scope and implement advanced changes across managed network environments.
- Set up and oversee solutions from key vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, HP/Aruba, Riverbed, and F5.
- Support SD-WAN technologies (Fortinet, VeloCloud, Viptela, Meraki).
- Operate within ITIL-aligned service management frameworks and contractual SLAs.
- Collaborate across teams to support transitions, changes, and blocking issues.
- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Be onsite customer facing for at least 2 days a week in the North Brisbane region.
What You Bring:
- 7+ years in ICT network engineering or service provider environments.
- Proficient in Cisco routing/switching, BGP/OSPF, and data centre technologies.
- Familiarity with Juniper, Aruba, Riverbed, and wireless solutions.
- Familiarity with service level, change, and transition management.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer engagement skills.
- F5 LTM/GTM, Fortinet NSE, Python/Ansible (DevOps), ITIL knowledge (desirable).
- Experience with WWAN (3G/4G), SD-WAN, and multi-vendor environments (desirable).
Qualifications:
- Relevant ICT Degree or equivalent experience
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – Routing & Switching
- Juniper JNCIS-ENT
- CCNA Wireless
- Aruba Certified Mobility Associate (ACMA)
- Riverbed RCSA-W
Preferred:
- CCIE or CCNP Data Centre
- JNCIP-ENT
