As our highly valued Test Lead based in Brisbane CBD your role will be responsible for implementing and executing Great Southern Bank's Test Strategy in the delivery of your assigned projects and Initiatives. You will provide expertise and execute the implementation of testing strategies for projects including critical activities such as test planning, stakeholder management, reporting, manual testing, test automation, test resource management and risk/ issue management.

This is an initial 12-month contract with potential to extend.

You'll make an impact by:
Reporting to the Practice Lead of Testing and working with key internal and external stakeholders for projects, you will provide accurate test estimates, manage the defect management process and tools ensuring the quality of items raised and adherence to the defined defect lifecycle, as well as actively participating in the testing forums for new suggestions and should be skilled with planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting.

  • The Project Test Lead is responsible for implementing and executing a Test Strategy for Great Southern Bank's strategic programs of work. In addition, as the Project Test Lead you will:
  • Define, implement, and refine test plans for Great Southern Bank with supporting processes, methods and measures across functional and non-functional test phases.

Coordinate stakeholder management, strategy, resource planning, implementation, execution, analysis and reporting for all testing engagements.

  • Lead, develop and mentor the Test Team, and responsibility for ensuring the consistency and quality of delivery of the team across System, Functional, Regression and Business Acceptance test phases, including Hypercare support.
  • Drive continual improvement of the testing processes and methodology.
  • Ensure partners and 3rd party vendors and suppliers meet Great Southern Bank quality requirements and that testing processes are integrated with Great Southern Bank's processes.
  • Manage the defect management process and tools ensuring the quality of items raised and adherence to the defined defect lifecycle in additional to ownership of defect triage.
  • Manage relationships and expectations with business stakeholders, project and work-stream managers and system vendors engaged in the testing process.
  • Ensure the automation strategy is adhered to and defining priority based on business requirements and risk profile.
  • Provide project stakeholders with high quality verbal and graphical test reporting metrics based on relevant test development progress, execution, and defects.
  • Coordinate with Business Team Management to secure Business Resources capacity for User Acceptance Testing Activities.
  • Manage test execution across project streams for multiple test cycles and phases.
  • Co-ordinate and maintain test compliance and governance in relation to Enterprise standards in coordination with the Enterprise Practice Test Lead.
  • Co-ordinate testing for non-functional requirements including Performance and Penetration Testing.
  • Review vendor test plans and test cases and ensure coverage/traceability and feedback on potential gaps and discrepancies.
  • Create and manage appropriate automation test strategy incorporating appropriate frameworks and alignment with enterprise automation processes
  • Estimation and sizing for test effort across different pieces of work.
  • Co-ordinate test sign offs for production releases and summaries of testing for business stakeholder approval process.
  • Provide project teams and vendors with a strategy in order to determine required Test Data and Test Environment utilisation.

Do things differently with us
To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Test Manager/Lead involving complex integration/migration projects preferably within the financial sector.
  • 5+ years' experience of Testing within software development projects at Senior Test Analyst level.
  • Experience of directly managing Test Teams with a variety of resources from various test disciplines via both onshore and offshore models.
  • Excellent leadership skills and communication skills, with the ability to produce high quality written documentation.
  • Extensive experience in developing Test Strategies, Test Plans, and other related test documentation.
  • Extensive experience across multiple software development methodologies and the SDLC.
  • Experience managing Vendors and driving accountability for quality.
  • Experience planning, managing and coordinating business UAT.
  • Extensive experience in managing resources across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Outstanding facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong vendor relationship skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive able to work to clearly defined and structured plans, or plan and organise own workload, to achieve tight deadlines.
  • Able to assimilate information quickly, and present findings in a concise and meaningful way.
