YOUR ROLE

In this role, you will play an integral role providing high quality and responsive advice on a diverse range of employee relations matters to Catholic schools and principals, while contributing to the development of policies and providing support for the management of complex cases.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Contribute to the development and continual improvement of employee relations policies relevant to Catholic schools
  • Provide high quality and responsive employee relations advice and services including the following:
  • interpretation of industrial instruments and policies
  • managing employer concerns relating to performance or conduct conflict resolution
  • managing ill and injured employees
  • provision of training
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including school employers and principals
  • Undertake, coordinate and manage projects
  • Provide an advocacy service in Fair Work Commission and other tribunals as required
  • Support the General Manager, Employee Relations, as required during periods of enterprise bargaining
  • Perform other duties as assigned within your scope of practice/work

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience in employee relations policy development and advanced policy writing skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and to work well within a team.
  • Specific knowledge of industrial relations legislation and knowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge of, workers' compensation and other related legislation and of the terms and conditions of employment applying to school-based teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Must hold or be willing to acquire a Working with Children check and National Police certificate/undergo a criminal records check.

Two (2) positions available for ongoing full-time ER Advisors, based in East Melbourne with a hybrid work arrangement.
