About the Company

Davidson Technology are working with an agency of the Queensland State Government to secure an experienced Project Officer to support the EPMO with the growing demands of project delivery across the organisation.

About the Role

As the Project Officer, you will support the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) by enhancing its project management capability with responsibilities that include coordinating project planning by developing work breakdown structures from contract and team input, creating cohesive schedules and ensuring their ongoing integrity, and tracking project performance against baseline metrics. You will monitor schedule trends and variances, prepare concise performance reports for supervisors, and work with the Program Controller to manage project meetings, minutes and action items. Additionally, you will assist in administering the master schedule, develop and maintain a suite of project management tools and templates, and contribute to projects to help achieve organisational operational objectives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll bring a strong analytical foundation, adept at using risk models such as RAID logs and @Risk Monte Carlo simulations and applying earned value management techniques to track planned and actual performance through cost and schedule indicators. You'll be proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, and skilled in project management tools like MS Project and Planner, while also familiar with data and digital ICT products including MS Dynamics and Power BI. Complemented by strong interpersonal, communication and time management skills, you'll understand project scheduling methods and project cost and budget management. A qualification in project management or business administration and knowledge of PMBOK methodologies are desirable, underscoring a comprehensive understanding of project governance and best practice.

The Benefits

You will be offered a 6-month contract (possible extension) on an excellent hourly rate and the ability to negotiate a flexible working arrangement after an initial induction period.
