Adelaide Hills Fresh is a family run business that grows, sources, and delivers premium fresh apples year-round to Australian and international markets.  We're a newly built site featuring state-of-the-art equipment and facilities located at Woodside in the picturesque Adelaide Hills.

About the role

We are looking for a skilled operator to set up, maintain and operate our machinery. You'll ensure the efficient running of production whilst maintaining a high level of quality.

The ideal candidate will be reliable and able to work with great attention to detail whilst maintaining a safety-first focus. You'll be naturally curious about problems, have a willingness to learn and be open to improvement. We are a tight-nit team that loves to get our hands dirty from the top down, so being hands on and a team player are essential in our workplace.

This role has the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

Purpose: Ensure smooth and efficient operation of our production line, whilst maintaining optimum fruit quality, employee wellbeing and workplace safety.

Responsibilities

  • Setup packing machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.)
  • Ensure any documentation is correct & recorded in a timely manner.
  • Control and adjust machine settings.
  • Inspect quality in-line with QA standards, both of the end product and also the quality throughout your line.
  • Test operation of machines periodically
  • Maintain & check daily records to spot any machine or process related issues that may affect production or quality. Alert your manager as required.
  • Stock control
  • Comply with, and ensure others comply with, company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure regular clean-down procedures are followed, and to the standard required.

  • Troubleshoot/help with maintenance as and when required.

  • Any other duties as reasonably requested of you by your manager.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a machine operator/flow wrap machinery is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of machinery.
  • Fruit packing experience is advantageous.
  • Strong communication & people skills.
  • Health and safety focused.
  • Attention to detail.
  • High risk license or a willingness to attain one.
