We are looking for a Senior Spare Parts Interpreter to join our expanding team

The Senior Spare Parts Interpreter is a subject matter expert responsible for managing the most complex and technically challenging spare parts requests. This role provides advanced technical advice, resolves escalations, and ensures the accurate identification, sourcing, and delivery of specialised or critical parts for the OEM product range. The position supports operational teams, customers, and suppliers in achieving optimal equipment performance and uptime in demanding mining environments.

Advanced Customer Support

• Act as the primary point of contact for complex, high-value, or time-critical parts requests.
• Provide expert advice to maintenance teams, field service technicians, and customers on parts selection, compatibility, and installation consideration.
• Handle escalations from Spare Parts Interpreters or other departments requiring specialist knowledge.

Complex Parts Identification & Sourcing

• Use engineering drawings, technical manuals, 3D models, and OEM resources to identify and source non-standard or obsolete parts.
• Research and validate alternative parts solutions in collaboration with engineering and supply chain teams.
• Coordinate urgent procurement and expedited logistics for critical equipment downtime situations.

Strategic Inventory & Forecasting Input

• Provide input to inventory forecasting for major shutdowns, rebuilds, or high-demand projects.
• Recommend adjustments to stock levels for specialised or high-value components based on usage trends.

Process & Technical Improvement

• Identify gaps in technical data, catalogues, or parts listings and work with relevant departments to update records.
• Contribute to the development of technical bulletins, reference materials, and best-practice guides for parts interpretation.
• Suggest process enhancements to improve turnaround times and accuracy for complex requests.

Compliance, Safety & Quality

• Ensure all activities comply with WHS regulations, OEM handling standards, and company safety procedures.
• Maintain adherence to QMS and ISO 9001:2015 quality requirements in all documentation and transactions.
• Keep meticulous records of all specialist orders, customer interactions, and technical research for audit and improvement purposes.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with engineering, procurement, and field service teams to ensure solutions are technically sound and commercially viable.
• Engage directly with OEM suppliers and technical representatives to resolve complex identification or supply issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience

Experience

• 7+ years' experience in spare parts interpretation or aftersales service within an OEM or heavy industry environment (preferably with experience in bulk material handling equipment).
• Demonstrated expertise in identifying and sourcing complex or non-standard parts.
• Strong technical understanding of OEM products and parts compatibility.
• Advanced ERP/inventory management skills (EPICOR preferred) and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• SANDVIK materials handling experience (Desirable).
