About the Company

Steelstruct Engineering is a privately owned, highly regarded Western Australian company providing steel fabrication, hardfacing and precision machining services to Australia's mining and resource markets. We manufacture from our modern, fully equipped workshops strategically located in Henderson (WA) and Rayong (Thailand).

This position plays a key role in supporting the successful delivery of engineering projects within our precision machining workshop and assisting with design, quality assurance, and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Project Support & Coordination:

  • Assist with planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Track project progress to ensure milestones are met.
  • Support communication between project teams including design, precision machining, procurement, and QA.

Technical Review & Documentation:

  • Review engineering drawings and specifications for accuracy.
  • Maintain project documentation including reports, change orders, and approvals.
  • Assist with procurement, production schedules, inspection reports, and safety records.

Manufacture Oversight & Quality Assurance:

  • Work closely with the workshop team to monitor progress and compliance with standards.
  • Support quality control procedures and safety protocols.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues during manufacture.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for timely delivery.
  • Report project status, risks, and progress to Branch Manager.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering (or working towards).
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of precision machining processes and quality assurance practices (desirable).
  • A proactive and safety-focused mindset.

Reporting

This position reports to the Branch Manager and collaborates closely with the precision machining team, Production Manager, and other cross-functional departments.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position based in the company's office in Henderson.
  • Standard working hours with occasional requirements to assist with after-hours events.
