The Opportunity

Are you a Senior Business Analyst who understands that enterprise email is the lifeblood of a modern organisation? FinXL IT is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to lead the strategic evolution of our client's global messaging ecosystem.

This is a high-impact role where you'll navigate the intersection of M365 architecture, cybersecurity, and business workflow automation. You'll be the bridge between our technical teams, vendors, and C-suite stakeholders, ensuring our communication platforms are secure, compliant, and future-proof.

Core Focus Areas
  • Infrastructure Strategy: Analyse our current Exchange Online/Hybrid environment and define the roadmap for decommissioning legacy systems and adopting "Modern Auth" standards.
  • Security & Deliverability: Lead the business case and requirements gathering for DMARC, SPF, and DKIM implementations to protect our brand reputation.
  • Compliance & Governance: Design workflows for eDiscovery, data retention, and legal hold processes that meet strict regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Translation: Convert complex technical limitations or security risks into clear, actionable business insights for non-technical leadership.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate workshops to capture complex functional and non-functional requirements for email security migrations and tenant-to-tenant consolidations.
  • Document "as-is" and "to-be" mail flow architectures, identifying bottlenecks in relay services or third-party integrations.
  • Evaluate and select enterprise email security gateways (e.g., Proofpoint, Mimecast, or Microsoft Defender).
  • Define acceptance criteria and oversee User Acceptance Testing for global messaging changes to ensure zero business disruption.
  • Contribute to Change and Risk Impact Assessments and high-level designs.
  • Conduct third-party risk assessments of applications and systems
  • Manage extensive vendor engagements to ensure seamless service transition
Key Skills & Experience
  • A Senior Business Analyst with extensive email proxy/email security gateway experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or understanding of mail flows and system connectors. You understand how a Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) works, and you can explain the difference between IMAP and MAPI.
  • Technical acumen across Exchange Online Protection and Defender for O365
  • Demonstrated experience in process modelling and requirements analysis
  • Previous delivery in complex, regulated industries with dispersed teams
  • Expertise in Project Methodology Frameworks and best practices
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder influencing skills
