What will you do?
The Social & PR coordinator role is focused on providing execution of strategic PR plans, organic & paid social plus events as well as tactical communication advice and support to the Target Australia business.
Collaboratively work with the Social Media Manager to implement PR programs and campaigns that promote and protect the reputation of the Target Australia business. Work collaboratively with Marketing Leadership team, Corporate Affairs, Merchandise, Design, Online, Store Operations and other key business stakeholders to create and execute PR initiatives and events that support the brand, marketing, category, campaign or product stories (in line with approved strategies and business objectives). As required, produce and edit all on-brand editorial material such as feature stories, media releases, research reports, presentations, blog posts, video content, social narrative, interview preparation materials & key messages.
Responsibilities include, but not limited:
• Execute PR and event strategies aligned with business objectives and brand direction
• Collaborate with the Social Media & PR Manager to review and refine strategic plans
• Manage day-to-day social media campaigns, content publishing, and community engagement
• Oversee creation and curation of social content including images, video, and written posts
• Drive influencer outreach and support the execution of organic social media programs
• Monitor social media trends and tools to enhance brand awareness and engagement
• Coordinate cross-functional campaign support, including sourcing samples for social and influencer initiatives
• Manage external agency relationships, from briefing to execution, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
What are we looking for?
The ideal person will have the following knowledge, skills and qualifications:
• Proven experience in PR, social media, and event management within a fast-paced retail or consumer brand environment
• Strong track record of developing and executing strategic communication plans across multiple channels
• Demonstrated ability to manage social media platforms, influencer programs, and community engagement initiatives
• Skilled in creating compelling content for media, blogs, video, and social platforms
• Experience working cross-functionally with internal teams and external agencies to deliver integrated campaigns
• Ability to analyse campaign performance and translate insights into actionable improvements
• Familiarity with current social media trends, tools, and best practices
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset
