
Senior Principal Research Project Coordinator

The Senior Principal Research Project Coordinator will play a leading role in managing and delivering a national program of research focused on improving the sexual health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This senior position will oversee major initiatives including the GOANNA Survey 3 and the Young Deadly Free Program, working closely with community organisations, researchers, and governance committees to ensure impactful, culturally safe, and high-quality research outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead and coordinate all aspects of large-scale research projects, including ethics applications, governance, stakeholder engagement, and project implementation.
Supervise and support project teams, ensuring effective community engagement and collaboration with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations nationwide.
Oversee project delivery, data collection, analysis, and reporting to funders, partners, and communities, ensuring research translates into meaningful outcomes.
This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position through until 30 June 2027 at HEW Level 8.
About YouPostgraduate qualifications in a relevant field, or a minimum of five years' equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Demonstrated expertise in community engagement with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples in a health context; experience in sexual health (including STIs, HIV and other BBVs) is highly desirable.
Proven experience in a research environment, including effective engagement with ethics and governance committees.
Extensive project management experience, with a track record of coordinating complex research projects across multiple partners and locations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise research documentation and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
