The Role
Reporting directly into the MD and CFO, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across all facets of the business. You will lead and mentor department heads across planning, operations, logistics, scheduling, HR, and health & safety through regular weekly meetings, ensuring seamless coordination and alignment with company objectives. Your focus will be on driving operational efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, fostering business growth and building strong stakeholder relationships. Additionally, you will:
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely, quality service delivery
- Oversee resource allocation of manpower, equipment and materials to optimise productivity
- Support, guide, and empower staff through training, ensuring confidence through industry changes
- Maintain budget awareness and actively identify operational efficiencies
- Develop & implement strategic plans aligned with company vision and objectives
- Manage day to day operations including fleet management, scheduling and service delivery
- Ensure fleet and assets consistently meet industry standards, regulatory requirements and safety measures
- Maintain compliance with relevant state and federal regulations and industry standards
- Oversee marketing and sales strategies to enhance brand presence and promote revenue growth
- Implement and maintain effective record keeping and documentation systems
- Serve as primary spokesperson and representative with key stakeholders
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety excellence, and employee engagement
- Manage risk appropriately while making investment decisions that contribute to long term success
- Proactively keep abreast of industry trends and advancements to implement best practices
Skills Required
You bring proven executive management experience within logistics, fleet management, civil construction, infrastructure services, utilities, or related compliance focused industries. Your demonstrated leadership ability to manage multi departmental teams and drive strategic operational excellence is essential.
You are highly organised with the ability to remain calm and clear headed under pressure and during critical decision making moments along with a natural ability to reprioritise competing demands with measured ease. Your hands on approach is balanced with strategic, big picture thinking, ensuring decisions benefit the business, clients, and long term growth.
As an expert communicator, you build and nurture strong relationships across all levels; from frontline staff to executive stakeholders, clients, and government entities. Your relational intelligence enables you to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics, resolve conflicts diplomatically, and foster genuine partnerships that drive mutual success.
You possess a strong commitment to safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. Experience with performance management systems, succession planning, and fostering positive workplace culture will be vital to your success.
This role will suit candidates offering a background in transport and logistics, civil construction, mining services, utilities management, facilities management, or emergency services.
