About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Community Grants officer to join our Community Partnerships and Inclusion Team.

As our Senior Community Grants Officer, you will lead the planning and implementation of Knox's Community Grants Program, including administration, promotion, assessment, distribution, monitoring and evaluation of annual grants allocations and facilitation of the Community Grants Panel. This role has a strong focus on developing and maintaining key partnerships with funded organisations and community groups whilst working collaboratively across Council departments to ensure the success of Knox's Community Grants Program. If you have experience in delivering community grants programs utilising Smartygrants and have a keen eye for detail this role could be for you.

This is a 0.8 position (30.4 hours per week). The role is based at the Civic Centre, Wantirna South. We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.

This is a Band 6 classified role. Remuneration will be $98,353.35 to $107, depending on experience, paid pro-rata for part time) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

What you will bring to this role

The key selection criteria for this role are:

  • Demonstrated experience in grant program management.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to demonstrate experience in community development with a commitment to human rights and social equity.
  • Demonstrated experience in project and resource management.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Smartygrants.
  • Experience implementing projects in line with best work practices/procedures.
  • Ability to prepare concise, accurate and well communicated project plans and reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including partnership development.
  • Demonstrated experience in a variety of community development and engagement activities working with a broad range of stakeholders, including community groups, service organisations and volunteers.
  • Ability to deliver presentations tailoring styles to a variety of audiences.
