About the role
Our Duty Managers play a day-to-day role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Penneshaw Pub. Nestled 5 minutes from the ferry terminal, this busy destination pub is a major hub for locals and tourists alike. Offering high level gastro-pub food and fantastic service, the Penneshaw Pub strives to deliver a high quality hospitality experience. As part of the Seafront Group, this position offers flexibility and opportunity to move within the group, and experience many different roles, providing key opportunities to develop your hospitality career.
What you'll be doing
- Oversee the daily operations of the hotel
- Lead a team of hospitality professionals, providing guidance, training and support
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
- Monitor and maintain hotel standards, policies and procedures
- Liaise with other department heads to coordinate activities and resolve issues
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategic plans and initiatives
- Ensure the hotel's compliance with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards
- Contribute to the overall profitability and growth of the business
What we're looking for
- Significant experience (4+ years) in a similar Duty Manager or leadership role within the hospitality industry
- Strong people management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service
- Proficient in hotel operations, and food and beverage management
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant tertiary qualification in hospitality management or a related field is highly desirable
