About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at SME Powered Services located in Port Melbourne, VIC. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design & development company projects & bids. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our organization.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing and developing electrical systems and components to meet project requirements
  • Preparing detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of electrical designs with other engineering disciplines
  • Conducting project design reviews, risk assessments, and cost analyses to optimize project outcomes
  • Providing technical support and guidance to project teams and clients
  • Staying up to date with industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical systems
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in similar role.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, electrical design software, and project management tools
  • Understanding of schematic & single line diagrams & product selections.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations
