Finance Manager

Mount Isa, Queensland | Full-Time

Our client is a 75-bed residential Aged Care facility located in the heart of Mount Isa, Queensland. They provide both permanent and respite care for residents across all levels of need. With a strong community focus, they are seeking a Finance Manager to manage financial operations and support the delivery of high-quality aged care services.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for the CEO/CFO
  • Ensure compliance with financial legislation, accounting standards, and facility policies
  • Manage general ledger reconciliations, asset register, bank accounts, petty cash, and resident billing
  • Responsible for accounts payable/receivable, month-end processes, and bond management

Resident & Family Support

  • Conduct financial assessments for new residents and provide clear, timely information regarding fees, bonds (RADs), and billing
  • Ensure a customer-first approach when liaising with residents, families, and external stakeholders

Leadership & Administration

  • Work with the finance/admin team, fostering a positive and collaborative workplace
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with all organisational policies
  • Oversee reception functions including cash receipting, reconciliations, and deposits
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for executive review

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and uphold occupational health and safety practices across all finance operations
  • Participate in training and continuous quality improvement programs

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, OR at least 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of financial procedures (Accounts Payable/Receivable, BAS, Superannuation, financial reporting, and resident fee quotations)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial software
  • Ability to manage competing demands, balancing customer service (front desk support) with daily finance functions
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and team support experience
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Federal Police Clearance (must disclose any future charges/convictions)
  • Up-to-date Influenza & COVID-19 vaccinations
  • Physical fitness appropriate for the role
