Roma State College is seeking expressions of interest for a dedicated and experienced educational leader to join the team as Deputy Principal (Special Education). In this role, you will lead the development of high-quality teaching and learning practices, foster a culture of inclusion, and build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, families, the wider community, and external agencies. You will work closely with our team at Roma State College, as well as provide support to smaller local schools as needed. Temporary accommodation can be provided for the successful applicant.

About the Role
As the Deputy Principal (Special Education), you will play a vital role in improving the educational outcomes of all students, with a strong focus on supporting those with disabilities. You will lead the development of high-quality teaching and learning practices that meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring inclusive and equitable access to education. By fostering a culture of collaboration and respect, you will nurture positive and supportive relationships between students, staff, families, and the broader school community, contributing to a safe and engaging learning environment.
This is a temporary full-time position, from 25 August 2025 to 19 September 2025, unless otherwise determined.
Your Responsibilities
As the Deputy Principal (Special Education), your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assist the Principal to lead the school community through the school special education program (SEP) or early childhood development program (ECDP) to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Deputise for the Principal when required.
- Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
