This entry-level position is ideal for a school leaver or someone starting out in the workforce who wants to gain valuable experience in property maintenance within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with general repairs and maintenance tasks across the hotel
  • Painting, patching, and basic handyman work
  • Minor plumbing and carpentry, under guidance
  • Pool cleaning, chemical checks, and general pool area upkeep
  • Gardening, weeding, and light landscaping around hotel grounds
  • Support the Maintenance Manager with scheduled and preventative work
  • Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests
  • Maintain a safe, tidy, and functional work environment

What We're Looking For:

  • A genuine interest in hands-on work and building maintenance
  • Basic experience with tools or DIY tasks (preferred but not essential)
  • Willingness to learn and follow direction
  • Strong work ethic and good communication skills
  • Physically fit and reliable
  • White Card (Construction Induction Card) or the ability to obtain one
  • Must be local to Cairns – no 88-day visa applicants please
