The OpportunityThe Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is seeking a highly motivated PSL6 Senior Inclusion Adviser.
The role sits within the Inclusion and Pathways section which is responsible for delivering strategic and operational support in workforce diversity and inclusion, dignified access, and entry-level employment programs. As a Senior Inclusion Adviser, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and supporting initiatives that foster an inclusive and respectful workplace across the department and broader parliamentary service.
This is a fast-paced, growing area of HR, and we are looking for an individual who is proactive, adaptable, and able to respond to evolving priorities with innovation and professionalism. Key responsibilities include the coordination and delivery of the Health, Wellbeing and Inclusion Calendar and associated events, supporting employee diversity networks, implementing Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) initiatives and providing tailored guidance to managers and staff.

Job Specific Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in diversity and inclusion, with a sound understanding of relevant legislation and Commonwealth strategies (desirable).
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.

Duty Statement
Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the specified classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Drive the delivery and coordination of the Health, Wellbeing and Inclusion Calendar, designing events, programs and other cultural inclusion initiatives related to days of significance.
Proactively develop, delivery and support the diversity and inclusion agenda for the department.
Implement First Nations cultural programs, with focus on the delivery of actions items under the Reconciliation Action Plan (Stretch RAP).
Engage effectively with all stakeholders across the department, including other parliamentary workplaces, employee networks and related community groups.
Monitor and research emerging trends and initiatives, recognising best practice programs to increase diversity and cultural competency.
Manage the annual Work Exposure (WEX) in Government program in partnership with the National Indigenous Australian Agency.
Assist with the development of procedures and guidelines, providing advice on culture, change, and inclusion matters to staff and their managers. Including management of a shared inbox ensuring queries are responded to in a timely manner.
Selection Criteria
Proven ability to design, implement and evaluate diversity and inclusion programs, policies or events.
Demonstrated capacity to think strategically and align inclusion initiatives with broader departmental goals and priorities.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare advice and formal documentation.
Experience engaging and consulting with a diverse range of stakeholders, including internal clients, employee networks, and senior executives.
Proven experience managing multiple tasks and projects with minimal supervision.

Currently, the salary range for this position is $97,841 - $109,967per annum.
Conditions of EmploymentEmployment opportunities at Department of Parliamentary Services are subject to a range of conditions prescribed in the Parliamentary Service Act 1999 which include:
Australian citizenship – to be eligible for employment with DPS, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
Security clearance and character clearance – the preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level specified, as well as complete and be deemed suitable through a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
Health assessment – a pre-employment health assessment will be required where there are physical or medical requirements for the role.
