We're a small but ambitious practice, building from the ground up with intention and care. The firm is led by a principal with mid-tier taxation advisory training, complemented by further experience in commercial roles and smaller firms. This mix has shaped a broad, practical approach that our clients rely on — not just for compliance, but for support in building and sustaining successful businesses.
We're looking for a capable and values-aligned
Senior Accountant
to join our team and take on a broad, hands-on role. The person who joins us now will help shape our future and will play a meaningful part in developing our systems, processes, and client relationships.
If you enjoy variety, autonomy, and being part of a supportive, collaborative environment — and you're the kind of person who gets satisfaction from doing great work that actually helps people — we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
This role is ideal for someone who is technically strong, proactive, and solutions-focused. You'll be working directly with senior leadership and clients, handling a wide variety of work, and contributing to the evolution of a growing practice.
This role is ideal if you're returning to work, tired of big-firm pressures, or prefer staying hands-on with the work rather than managing people.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll need to be comfortable and capable with the full spectrum of public practice services, including:
- Bookkeeping and account reconciliation
- BAS preparation and lodgement
- Financial statements and income tax return preparation
- Assisting with payroll tax, QBCC, FBT and other ad hoc compliance tasks
- Assisting with tax planning, management reporting and other business advisory services
- Liaising with clients to answer queries and provide professional support
- Collaborate with leadership on process improvements and growth
What We're Looking For
Experience & Qualifications
- CA or CPA qualified
- 4+ years' experience in Australian public practice (firm size doesn't matter)
- Strong generalist background across a range of services and client types
- Experience with more complex tax areas including Capital Gains Tax, Division 7A, and trust taxation
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Xero preferred) and advanced Excel skills
- Right to work in Australia without sponsorship requirements
Skills & Attributes
- Highly organised and self-managing
- Sharp attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to help out wherever needed
- Genuine interest in professional and personal growth
- Passionate about doing meaningful work with good people
Flexible Working Arrangements
- Available to work from the office, but flexible hybrid options available
- Open to both full-time or part-time arrangements — let's chat about what works for you
Why Join Us?
- Genuine opportunity to shape and grow with a boutique practice
- Friendly, down-to-earth team with shared values
- No rigid hierarchy or red tape — just good people doing good work
- A role where your contribution truly matters
Sound like you?
We'd love to hear from you. Send us your resume and a short note about why this role caught your eye.
