is looking for a full-time Biomedical Engineer for our client Brisbane, Queensland. As a biomedical engineer, you will manage and maintain medical equipment, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. - Design and develop innovative medical devices and systems, ensuring they meet clinical needs and comply with relevant regulations.
- Improve existing medical technologies by researching new materials, technologies, and processes to enhance functionality, safety, and efficiency.
- Create detailed technical documentation, including design schematics, specifications, and user manuals.
- Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure devices and systems operate efficiently and reliably.
- Develop and implement testing protocols to ensure all medical devices meet safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct rigorous quality assurance and validation tests throughout the development and manufacture processes.
- Analyse test results, identify issues, and work to refine or optimize the devices accordingly.
- Document all test results and quality assurance activities for reporting and compliance purposes.
- Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to understand their specific needs and challenges related to medical equipment.
- Participate in clinical trials or field evaluations to gather user feedback and ensure devices perform effectively in real-world settings.
- Customise or modify medical devices to meet unique requirements of healthcare settings.
- Maintain ongoing communication with medical staff to ensure continuous improvement and support for medical equipment.
- Diagnose malfunctions and issues with medical equipment through systematic troubleshooting processes.
- Perform timely repairs, calibrations, and adjustments to restore equipment functionality and ensure patient safety.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend the life of medical devices.
- Keep detailed records of troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance activities for compliance and future reference.
Qualifications/Attributes:
- Must hold a diploma in Biomedical Engineering or at least 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu of the qualification.
- Must possess at least a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Must have knowledge with hospital medical devices.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyse complex plans, processes, and what-if scenarios.
- Excellent technical and project management skills.
Salary Range: $70,000–$80,000 p.a. excluding superannuation.
