Your role:
- Own and execute the go-to-market strategy for Australia in collaboration with global leadership.
- Provide market intelligence and regulatory updates to shape product, legal, and commercial strategy.
- Represent the company externally — at industry events, with media, and in policy forums.
- Lead the company's licensing efforts in Australia (e.g., AFSL, DCE registration).
- Oversee day-to-day operations in line with license conditions.
- Ensure compliance systems are effective (AML/CTF, breach reporting, dispute resolution, training).
- Embed a culture of compliance, risk management, and consumer protection.
- Partner with internal legal/compliance teams and external counsel to ensure end-to-end regulatory compliance.
- Identify and close strategic partnerships with local payment providers, fintechs, and institutional clients.
- Support the commercialization of the platform in Australia — including driving early client traction.
- Work closely with product and marketing teams to localize offerings based on market needs.
What makes you stand out:
- 7+ years in financial services, crypto, fintech, or related sectors.
- Prior experience in a senior market-facing role (e.g., GM, Head of BD, Strategy, or Regulatory Affairs).
- Familiar with digital asset regulation in Australia — ideally with direct experience navigating licensing.
- Proven track record of working with or within regulators, legal teams, or policy groups.
- Business development or commercial experience in a regulated or B2B environment.
- Highly strategic, but willing to dive deep into details where needed.
- Fast-moving, intellectually curious, and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Clear communicator and confident external representative.
- Trusted operator — capable of balancing commercial growth with regulatory responsibility.
- No ego, low bureaucracy — gets things done with a lean, focused approach.
- Experience securing licenses (AFSL, DCE registration, etc.).
- Network within Australian regulators, policymakers, or institutional finance.
