About the role
Mater is seeking a detail-oriented Bank Reconciliation Officer to join our Financial Accounting Services team at the Newstead Campus on a full-time, 18-month maximum term contract. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Mater's financial systems while contributing to continuous improvement across treasury and accounting processes.
Salary: $ $44.25 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+access to many staff benefits
What you'll be doing
You will prepare and complete daily bank reconciliations, ensuring all outstanding items are actioned promptly and accurately. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will investigate and resolve reconciliation exceptions while supporting the Senior Bank Reconciliation Officer with month-end processes. You will also respond to transaction queries and identify opportunities to enhance reconciliation practices, contributing to a culture of efficiency and accuracy.
About you
You are an organised and proactive finance professional with a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills. To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- 1+ years' experience in bank reconciliation or a finance-related environment.
- Relevant diploma qualification (Accounting, Business, Economics) or equivalent experience (desirable).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage large data volumes.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with Finance ERP systems (Microsoft D365 highly regarded).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, while managing competing priorities.
